Beaver Scouts are boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years old but in some cases children can join from slightly younger if it is considered appropriate by the Leader.

Beaver Scouts wear a simple uniform consisting of a turquoise sweatshirt and the Group Scarf.  Beavers meet once a week and work towards Challenge and Activity Badges. They discover science, nature and technology and explore the natural and man-made world. When they complete challenges or activities they earn badges which can be sewn onto their uniform.

At present we have been working towards our Promise Challenge creating a Fleu-de-lis in the garden area and also Exlore by learning about Sale - going on a scavenger hunt around Sale to find out about our local area.

They can also come to Camp to join in the daytime activities and may stay overnight or may do a sleepover at one of the Scout Huts.
Our group has two Beaver Colonies, one at Raglan Road and one at Woodbourne Road.  Children can join whichever colony is most convenient for them.  New Beaver Scouts can come along for
a few weeks to try it out and see if they like it after which they would be expected to join the Group.  When they join they are 'invested' by taking the Beaver Scout Promise.

For details on how to join contact the Beaver Leaders or turn up to one of the meetings and talk to a leader. For details on subscriptions see the "Useful Info" page.
